Happy New Year !
Welcome back everyone. Believe it or not, but January can also a time for celebration, too. Here are my tips:
Canary Wharf Winter Lights: 21st January until 1st February 2025, Canary Wharf/ FREE EVENT
The bright lights of Canary Wharf’s towers are quite the spectacle after dark, but the business district will glow brighter than usual in January thanks to the addition of sparkling illuminations created by artists from around the world. The Winter Lights festival returns for its ninth edition with a new set of dazzling artworks, installations and interactive experiences, plus some old favourites from previous years. There’ll be 11 immersive illuminations to see.
My top 3 best winter walks in London for a frosty stroll
London’s blessed with so many gigantic, historic parks to explore. As winter arrives, walking among the sculptural trees, frozen lakes and peaceful pathways is a must for anyone.
1. Hampstead Heath
The grassy sprawl of Hampstead Heath makes the perfect setting for a rural walk on a chilly day.
2. Kensington Gardens
Find some peace in the middle of the city with a wintery stroll around Kensington Gardens. There are open green spaces and woodlands to wander through, as well as plenty of pretty spots to stop at on your walk, like the Albert Memorial, the Serpentine and the Palace.
3. Waterlow Park
This 20-acre green space is one of the capital’s hidden gems. There are three ponds for wildlife-spotting, benches with views for remembering how beautiful London is and hills for sledging if it snows. It’s also right next door to atmospheric Highgate Cemetery, if you want to extend your winter wander.
And there you are! Lots of ideas for January!
See you all in February.
