Hi everyone! Welcome back to the Alhambra Hotel Monthly Blog!

Prepare yourself for a marvellous May in London. Spring has officially sprung, the days are warming up and London’s parks are at their blooming best. Spend those sunny May days in London exploring the capital’s great outdoors or sinking a drink (or two) on one of London’s rooftop bars, which have just started to open. Be sure to make the most of not one, but two Bank Holidays in May, by checking out the city’s new exhibitions and theatre shows. May in London is also the month of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, London Craft Week, London Wine Week, the Hackney Half Marathon, Chelsea Fringe and Museums at Night. Here’s our guide to the best events, parties, pop-ups and things to do in May 2019 in London.

London Craft Week: Wednesday May 8 2019 – Sunday May 12 2019

This week-long festival, now in its fifth year celebrates craftsmen beavering away in all in all sorts of interesting nooks and crannies across London. From the smallest off-the-beaten-track atelier to ancient makers’ guilds and luxury retailers, all get stuck into a whole range of events behind-the-scenes demonstrations, hands-on craft workshops, talks, interviews and discussions with fascinating crafts people.

London Wine Week: Monday May 13 2019 – Sunday May 19 2019

Will showcase exciting vintages and the best of select wine regions – so work your way through reds, whites, rosés, oranges and even special sparklers.

The week will also see pop-ups, dinners, tastings and masterclasses happening in partner bars and restaurants.

RHS Chelsea Flower Show: Tuesday May 21 2019 – Saturday May 25 2019

More than 500 exhibitors are tending to their most prized plants for the 2019 Chelsea Flower Show, which has taken place annually (apart from a few gaps during the two world wars) for over 100 years now.

More information about exhibitors and show gardens will be released nearer the time, but tickets are already available to buy via the RHS website.

And here we are! May promises to get an exciting month.

As always, gives us your valuable feedback and any other suggestions for our blog…

See you all in June!
